It is very important that you get yourself to a sleep clinic. If you are a snorer, it is a very good chance that you have sleep apnea which can lead to a whole lot of other things, the least of which is feeling tired in the morning. Check with your doctor. I wish you the best.

Hello,

Cure for snoring can be surgical on non surgical. Before u start any cure ,first u need to know the reason of snoring and take steps to cure reason for snoring(so snoring will disappear).Surgical treatments are next:
Nasal De-congestion
Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy
Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP)
Laser Assisted Uvula Palatoplasty (LAUP)
Thermal Ablation (‘Diathermy Palatoplasty’ or ‘Somnoplasty’)
Pillar Palatal Implant System
Injection Snoreplasty
Most surgical procedures cannot be reversed, or cannot be reversed easily. Reversal, if possible, will require further surgery with its attendant risks, discomfort/pain and expense. This is not to suggest that surgery should not be considered as a viable treatment but as a general rule, it is logical and appropriate that surgical treatments should be considered a ‘last resort’ option.
As non surgical treatment clinics use a 'Mandibular Repositioning Device' (also known as a Mandibular Advancement Splint). This device is designed to move and hold the mandible, or lower jaw, forward. This holds the tongue and connected tissues forward and clear of the airway when the person falls asleep.
Should you use any of the clinics to treat Ur condition ,well....Ur physician should have last word(i mean beside your self).Hope this helps...... cheers

Hello Alan, I empathize with your plight.
Snoring is taken as a form of comedy for most people. For the sufferer (and those sleeping around him/her) its no laughing matter.
I grew up with a father who snored (loud I might add) and a sister as well.
Both suffered throughout their lives, they have something called sleep apnea (less than the ideal amount required) because the snoring would interrupt sleep cycles throughout the night.
This makes the person tired, lethargic and sleepy throughout the day. No matter how much they sleep it does not seem enough. Growing up we could never understand how my sister could sleep off so quickly (she would be off in seconds because she was so tired) or for so long (she would get up from an afternoon nap and then be ready at bedtime to sleep again four-five hours later).
For my father its too late. Its a lifelong habit now. But my sister said enough is enough (probably when my poor brother-in-law took to sleeping in another room so he could get up mornings for work) and took matters into her own hands. They recommended the same thing to her as well, sleep labs, clinics, studies, a looong procedure that she could not do with two small kids in the home.
She went to and ENT (ear, nose, throat specialist) and he immediately found the problem, a deviation inside her nostril and a growth on her throat, both interfering with the quality of sleep she got.
She went back to the hospital with the findings and they have recommended she undergoes something called 'septoplasty'. Its a half-hour procedure, under general anaesthesia. She is scheduled to go have it done next month.
I wish her a lifetime of good, dreamless sleep after that. She deserves it, and so do you. Dont wait, because its something that needs to be taken care of and will not go away on its own.
Good luck.

I recently had surgery for obstructive sleep apnea, it also solved my heavy snoring problem. I had my tonsils removed, Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP), and Genioglossus Tongue Advancement (all described at my surgeon's website below).

This might be more then you're looking for to address snoring alone, but it was the right resource for me.

there's a simple surgery procedure that you can do. it involves stitching the upper part of your back jaw (don't really know what's that part called). Snoring is due to that part being droopy or loose, therefore by stitching it up tightens that part and reduces snoring. ask your local sleep clinic
